For student accommodation
WhatsApp chatbot for student accommodation and halls of residence
Bedel is an AI WhatsApp chatbot configured for each centre's operations. It answers repetitive questions, collects residents' requests and puts each issue on the phone of the person responsible.
What a WhatsApp chatbot does in a residence
A resident writes to the hall or accommodation centre's usual number. Bedel understands the request, answers from the centre's handbook and acts only where a defined flow allows it.
- Answers questions about dining, opening times, house rules, parcels and common rooms.
- Logs maintenance issues and assigns them to the right role and shift.
- Handles meal cancellations, packed lunches, bookings and arrival or departure notices.
- Answers in the person's language and keeps the history in the team's dashboard.
What a useful residence chatbot needs
A generic chatbot can answer an FAQ. A residence also needs to know what it may decide, who should be alerted and when a person must take over.
- Answers anchored to the centre's handbook and approved FAQs, not generic memory.
- Routing by department, responsible person and shift, without sending every alert to the whole group.
- Escalation to a person for money, health, safeguarding, exceptions or uncovered matters.
- Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform, with data hosted in the European Union.
Who it is for
It is designed for teams running a hall of residence, student accommodation, a PBSA operator or a coliving space that want to keep WhatsApp as the front door.
- Management teams that need to know what is still open.
- Reception, maintenance, dining and housekeeping teams that receive only what belongs to them.
- Multi-site operators that want shared operations without losing each house's rules.
Questions about the WhatsApp chatbot
Is Bedel a generic chatbot?
No. It is a WhatsApp chatbot configured with each centre's handbook, FAQs, departments and shifts. If a question is not covered, it says so and escalates instead of inventing a rule.
Does it replace a hall's management system?
No. Bedel handles the conversation and day-to-day operations through WhatsApp; it does not bill fees or replace the centre's management system. It works as an entry point and an incident record for the team.
Can a family member get a resident's data?
Not by default. Bedel does not confirm that someone lives at the centre or share their data until the resident authorises the link; some actions remain reserved to the resident.
How can we test it before production?
You can walk through the live demo and run a guided pilot with the team. The sandbox lets you test replies, alerts and closures without sending real messages to residents.
